First Bight Ventures is looking for an additional full-time Venture Capital Analyst, preferably with previous venture capital and/or start up experience. Must have formal biology and or chemistry education and live in the Houston area or state of Texas. The Analyst will help identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through a combination of financial analysis, market research, due diligence, and relationship management. Some of the key responsibilities of the analyst may include:

• Deal sourcing: Identifying and sourcing potential investment opportunities in emerging companies or startups.
• Financial analysis: Analyzing financial statements, creating financial models, and assessing the viability and growth potential of investment opportunities.
• Due diligence: Conducting research on target companies and their industries to assess their viability, growth potential, and risks.
• Market research: Conducting research on market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to identify investment opportunities.
• Relationship management: Building and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and other industry professionals to stay up-to-date on trends and opportunities.
• Portfolio management: Supporting portfolio companies by providing financial and strategic guidance, monitoring their progress, and helping them to achieve their growth objectives.
• Reporting and analysis: Preparing reports and presentations for senior management and investment committees, analyzing market trends and performance data, and providing insights on investment opportunities.
• Administrative support: Coordinating activities of funds Partner(s).

The skills required for a VC Analyst include strong analytical and research skills, financial modeling expertise, business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of emerging biotechnologies and trends. Additionally, a VC Analyst must have a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and venture capital, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving industry.
